To all my family, friends and valued customers I wish you one and all the most joyous and happy holiday season. For my family it’s a Very Merry Christmas. Rhonda and I are pleased to host Rhonda’s dad Charlie and big sister Sharon. We are planning a quiet day at home enjoying each other’s company and relaxing.

Earlier this evening I was surprised by a request by one of my neighbors to pose as Santa Claus for their two little girls. Despite the fact that I’ve never done this; they supplied the costume, gifts to bring, outlined the timing, suggested that I emphasize being good all year and even sent me on my way with a little snack for the sleigh. I have to admit it was kind of fun. Even though I was totally unprepared. Rhonda and Sharon jumped in and added some touches they thought were important to the ruse. They found some sleigh bells, helped make a green “sack” from a holiday tablecloth, suggested I wear my reading glasses (not pictured) and egged me on for support. I only hope I was sufficiently jolly and gave the little ones a bit of excitement for the evening.

No matter where you are, how you celebrate the time of year, whether you’re with family and friends, defending our country and way of life in a foreign land, enjoying the solitude of a mountaintop vista alone, diving the deep blue seas, or surfing the web, TV channels, or radio waves; embrace this moment and enjoy the life we all share together here on this small corner of the universe.

Pax Vobiscum.

One of my most favorite places to enjoy breakfast is Antique Row Cafe in Normal Heights of San Diego. The staff is always very friendly and the service is really fast too. I’ve been going there for too many years to mention here. For many of those years now I’ve had the singular privilege to meet the staff and owners at their Holiday Party for a group picture of the servers and owners together. Since I’ve been patronizing the establishment so long they all feel like family. This year they allowed Rhonda and me to join them for dinner and to observe their gift exchange and bonus game. It was a great time and keeps me mindful of the connections we make throughout the year.

Today’s adventure permitted me to meet some of the newest sales staff for the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau. Visit the site anytime you want something new to do in or around San Diego. These people are the ones that help organize and orchestrate all those fun things people come to San Diego for.

Last night my little sister was in town to work on some family business. As usual, we take advantage of an opportunity to get together by going out for dinner somewhere different. And I love different! This was really a treat of unique proportions. We found Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe to be perfect for fun and that something special for different dinner.

You’re probably wondering what I found so appetizing? The alligator started us off as the “appetizer”. Then I sated my hunger on crawfish etoufet over dirty rice, fried crawfish tails with sweet barbecue dipping sauce, French fries and a few of the best hushpuppies I’ve ever had. While it was spicier than I prefer, the combo was excellent! If you ever get the chance to try out Razzoo’s, take it!
