Last evening I attended a very fun gathering at the shop of Tracy and Kevin Kennedy of Attention Getters Design in El Cajon. The refreshments and conversation was really great. They showed off their printing operation for large format signage and designs while everyone mingled in their studio. They even made complementary prints for anyone who brought a file in. Really awesome time.

I’ve had the pleasure of doing some work that made it into their hands and it’s really great stuff. A realtor friend of mine (Keith Woolgar) hired me a while ago to capture his head shot and it was used on his van wrap from Attention Getters then I did another picture for him standing next to the van. It’s really a true “Attention Getter” for his business. The image is currently his profile picture on FaceBook. So check him out!

Keith’s site also has his van wrap image at the bottom of this page: http://www.KeithSellsSanDiego.com/

A few days back while friends were visiting Southern California I took the opportunity to join them while they visited a couple of unique auto museums in Oxnard California. The first museum represented in the show below is The Mullin Automotive Museum. They are only open two days a month. The museum focuses on French cars. “The French Curves Collection exemplifies the zenith of the French automobile.” And you should see it if you ever get the chance. These cars are absolutely fantastic!

The second museum wasn’t really on our schedule. It’s the Murphy Auto Museum just a few blocks away from the Mullin. “The Murphy Auto Museum is a non-profit museum that boasts a collection of over 50 cars displayed by many collectors from the tri-county area surrounding Oxnard, California. It houses a wide variety of classic and special interest vehicles.” This small museum is really personal and has quite a few very nice cars.

A very good friend of mine named Sam introduced us to his new bundle of joy Nicole. She is all of 3 months old and a real scene stealer. I wish them love and luck.

To all my family, friends and valued customers I wish you one and all the most joyous and happy holiday season. For my family it’s a Very Merry Christmas. Rhonda and I are pleased to host Rhonda’s dad Charlie and big sister Sharon. We are planning a quiet day at home enjoying each other’s company and relaxing.

Earlier this evening I was surprised by a request by one of my neighbors to pose as Santa Claus for their two little girls. Despite the fact that I’ve never done this; they supplied the costume, gifts to bring, outlined the timing, suggested that I emphasize being good all year and even sent me on my way with a little snack for the sleigh. I have to admit it was kind of fun. Even though I was totally unprepared. Rhonda and Sharon jumped in and added some touches they thought were important to the ruse. They found some sleigh bells, helped make a green “sack” from a holiday tablecloth, suggested I wear my reading glasses (not pictured) and egged me on for support. I only hope I was sufficiently jolly and gave the little ones a bit of excitement for the evening.

No matter where you are, how you celebrate the time of year, whether you’re with family and friends, defending our country and way of life in a foreign land, enjoying the solitude of a mountaintop vista alone, diving the deep blue seas, or surfing the web, TV channels, or radio waves; embrace this moment and enjoy the life we all share together here on this small corner of the universe.

Pax Vobiscum.

One of my most favorite places to enjoy breakfast is Antique Row Cafe in Normal Heights of San Diego. The staff is always very friendly and the service is really fast too. I’ve been going there for too many years to mention here. For many of those years now I’ve had the singular privilege to meet the staff and owners at their Holiday Party for a group picture of the servers and owners together. Since I’ve been patronizing the establishment so long they all feel like family. This year they allowed Rhonda and me to join them for dinner and to observe their gift exchange and bonus game. It was a great time and keeps me mindful of the connections we make throughout the year.
